Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason was absent from the mini-reunion that brought Roger Waters and David Gilmour together for a short set the summer of 2010. The two played a benefit for the Hoping Foundation in England to a crowd of about 200. Nick said, “That particular event wasn’t right for a reformation of Pink Floyd. I said I would do it, but it was a charity event for suits, and it felt wrong to turn a small thing into a big deal just because British socialite Jemima Khan was in attendance.” The show took place at the home of her ex-husband, retired Pakistani cricket legend Imran Khan. Nick said, “Why play for a lot of posh totty instead of some of the other things we should save that up for – like a Live 8 type of thing?”
