Tonight, Canada honours its artists with the Juno Awards. Performers include Carly Rae Jepsen, Vancouver’s Marianas Trench, The Sheepdogs, Serena Ryder, with host Michael Buble live from Regina’s Brandt Centre.
Buble himself is a Juno Fan Choice nominee. Tom Cochrane and Blue Rodeo’s Jim Cuddy are appearing.

Prince takes a shot at Maroon 5
Prince has taken a shot at Maroon 5 for recording a cover version of his hit song Kiss, insisting their rendition adds nothing new to the song. Adam Levine and the boys included their version of the 1986 song on their latest album Overexposed, but Prince is not a fan. He tells Billboard, “Why do we need to hear another cover of a song someone else did? Art is about building a new foundation, not just laying something on top of what’s already there.”
Prince has no issue with other artists performing his songs during live shows – it’s just album covers which annoy him.
The Daylight Project: Maroon 5
Maroon 5 is asking fans to help with their new music video for their next single, “Daylight.” ‘The Daylight Project’ is a video to be created by the world’s population. The band and director Jonas Akerlund are looking for people from everywhere to come out and share their life stories. Singer Adam Levine says, “As different as we all are there are common themes that bring us together, inspire and show everyone what is important today,” Over ten days, fans can visit daylightproject.org for more information and to submit a video. Submit a video by October 1st.
