Poutine pop by Jones Soda?

Have they gone too far? Jones Soda Company has flavoured soda pop that tastes like Canada’s symbolic holy trinity of ingredients — fries, gravy and cheese curds.
This limited-edition flavour is brought to you by Seattle’s pop stars largely known for their root beer, cream sodas and lemonades.
Available in select cities across Canada and especially in Quebec, where poutine was invented.
Stones rock LA last night

The Rolling Stones rocked a packed house in Los Angeles Friday on the opening night of their North American “50 and Counting” tour. With 17 dates, it’s their biggest in six years. “We first played LA in 1965. Thank you for coming to see us. We really appreciate it,” Mick Jagger said at Staples Center.
Celebrities included Jack Nicholson and Melanie Griffith, with guest performances by Gwen Stefani on “Wild Horses” and Keith Urban on “Respectable.” Days before the show, hundreds of seats were still available and scalpers scrambled to slash prices down from the original $250 to $600. The band released $85 seats on its official website.
Congratulations Oakridge Optimists Arena!
The Oakridge Optimists Arena is getting a major makeover.
Each year, the Lowe’s grant program works with Hockey Canada to select two Canadian neighbourhood rinks in need of renovation. This year, London and Windsor are recipients of the Community Rink Renovation Fund. Today, Lowe’s handed over a $50,000 cheque for painting, better bench seating, and a new trophy case. Mayor Joe Fontana and former NHL goalie and team Canada champion Curtis Joseph were on hand for celebrations.
Gwen Stefani in Hollywood Thursday

Gwen Stefani looked positively radiant while walking to a recording studio in West Hollywood Thursday and seemed to be in a very “zen” state of mind. She even threw up a peace sign to the watching paparazzi. No Doubt’s new album is under construction. Their last effort was Push and Shove.
Carly Rae Jepsen early Juno winner last night

No maybes about it – the Junos called Carly Rae Jepsen last night. The five-time nominee won an early trophy for best pop album for Kiss during the Junos’ non-televised gala dinner, which saw 35 awards handed out. That means Justin Bieber’s Believe lost in that category. Artist of the year honours went to 78-year-old Leonard Cohen.
Waverly Oldies hit the big time!
The Waverley Oldies are hitting the small screen! The Waverley seniors residents’ (on Grand Avenue) video to the Carly Rae Jepsen hit Call Me Maybe will be featured on America’s Funniest Home Videos tonight. They submitted the video about a month ago when they heard America’s Funniest Home Videos would be having a special ‘Call Me Maybe’ episode. There were thousands of applicants and videos but they picked theirs to be among those on the show.
They’re not too sure which part is going to be shown or how much will air but they’re all really excited. The residents have made nine videos to date, and will start filming another one on Monday.
Producer Sarah Urquhart says the videos have done wonders for the residents. “Everyone is just so much more social and interactive with each other. It’s done nothing but heighten everybody up. Whether they were in it or not, everyone still feels like they’re part of it.”
