Most Dangerous Selfie Ever
Tampa Bay Rays reporter for the Sun Sports Kelly Nash made viral headlines after her first visit to Boston’s legendary Fenway Park over the weekend. While taking a “selfie” shot from the stands to send to her fam, a stray ball narrowly avoided Nash’s blonde head as the camera flash went off. The amusing “heads up!” image soon went viral on Twitter and Instagram.
Carly Rae Jepsen early Juno winner last night

No maybes about it – the Junos called Carly Rae Jepsen last night. The five-time nominee won an early trophy for best pop album for Kiss during the Junos’ non-televised gala dinner, which saw 35 awards handed out. That means Justin Bieber’s Believe lost in that category. Artist of the year honours went to 78-year-old Leonard Cohen.
Waverly Oldies hit the big time!
The Waverley Oldies are hitting the small screen! The Waverley seniors residents’ (on Grand Avenue) video to the Carly Rae Jepsen hit Call Me Maybe will be featured on America’s Funniest Home Videos tonight. They submitted the video about a month ago when they heard America’s Funniest Home Videos would be having a special ‘Call Me Maybe’ episode. There were thousands of applicants and videos but they picked theirs to be among those on the show.
They’re not too sure which part is going to be shown or how much will air but they’re all really excited. The residents have made nine videos to date, and will start filming another one on Monday.
Producer Sarah Urquhart says the videos have done wonders for the residents. “Everyone is just so much more social and interactive with each other. It’s done nothing but heighten everybody up. Whether they were in it or not, everyone still feels like they’re part of it.”
43rd Annual Juno Awards live tonight from Regina on CityTv

Tonight, Canada honours its artists with the Juno Awards. Performers include Carly Rae Jepsen, Vancouver’s Marianas Trench, The Sheepdogs, Serena Ryder, with host Michael Buble live from Regina’s Brandt Centre.
Buble himself is a Juno Fan Choice nominee. Tom Cochrane and Blue Rodeo’s Jim Cuddy are appearing.
“Walk Off The Earth” recreates the kind of video that went viral
Meet the band, “Walk Off The Earth”. This funky quintet from Burlington had done a pile of their own videos, mostly for songs they had written themselves but it was their cover of Goyte’s “Someone I Used To Know” that really launched them into the music spotlight. It was featured on “Ellen” who thought it was really cool – very original (even if it was a cover of someone elses song)
Buble dreams of being an actor

Michael Buble’s planning to put his singing career on hold so he can launch himself as a Hollywood actor. The Canadian crooner once appeared as an extra in an episode of TV show The X-Files, admits he’s desperate to start making movies, but he’s been too busy with his music to pursue his dream. However, Buble is planning to take a break so he can chase acting roles full-time. He tells Britain’s Sunday Express newspaper, “The only reason I haven’t done it (made a film) is because of the time constraints. I think in the next couple of years I will take time off and start making movies.”
