Some of the most famous albums in the history of rock n roll were recorded at this studio in California (Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours, Nirvana’s Nevermind, just to name a couple) that closed down in May of 2011. Dave Grohl is directing a documentary to share some of the history of Sound City…I can’t wait!! Check out the trailer above!
Charity Roller Derby Doubleheader for SACL

LOCO Roller Derby London is hosting a charity bout for the Sexual Assault Centre of London (SACL) on April 28, 2012. This double header will feature LOCO London vs. LOCO Ontario in a reduced-contact competition, plus the Violet Femmes vs. the Sarnia Crude Oil Crushers in a full-contact face off. Tickets are $12 advance, $15 at the door. Doors open at 6 pm. Kids under 10 are free. To get tickets, email info@locorollerderby.com or but them online at ticketscene.ca. The 2012 Billboard Music Awards finalists have been announced, and among new awards such as Top Streaming Artist and Top Digital Songs Artist, they are still giving away the usual awards, such as Best Rock Artist and Best Alternative Artist…though it is the same five artists nominated for both categories…and I’m not sure I’d consider some of them ‘Alternative’. Bad news for Tom Petty! Five guitars belonging to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have been stolen from a Southern California soundstage where the band has been rehearsing for an upcoming tour.

January 5th, Van Halen with Diamond Dave played a private show at Cafe Wha in New York in anticipation of their upcoming tour. Even in cream coloured overalls, David Lee Roth is a total rockstar!! VH will be at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit February 20th, and at the ACC in Toronto March 17th. Tickets on sale January 14th.
