Mark Holmes, the lead singer of Platinum Blonde broke down during the group’s induction into the Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Hall of Fame in March 2010 in Toronto, during Canadian music week. His voice broke as he brought up late bassist-keyboardist Kenny MacLean (pictured above), who died in November 2008 at age 52 just as the band was planning a long-awaited reunion gig. “It’s still hard to talk about,” said Holmes. “I miss him so much. We decided, because of Kenny, that we would get back together. Everything we did was kind of ’cause Kenny was always after us for doing it, so him not being here is really hard for us.”
MacLean was found dead on November 24, 2008 of a heart related problem. His third solo CD, Completely, was released at a concert three days before his death. All was complete.
