Billy Bryans, a Juno Award-winning musician, founder of ’80s pop group Parachute Club and acclaimed producer, died April 23rd in Toronto from cancer. He was 63. He co-wrote “Rise Up” while also performing in other groups like new wave outfit the Government and Hamilton’s the Bop Cats. He co-produced the Downchild Blues Band and spent time working at Daniel Lanois’ Grant Avenue Studios in Hamilton.
