If you’ve ever wondered why the 5th dentist wasn’t on board whenever tv commercials say “4 out of 5 dentists recommend…”, we’re pretty sure we know the answer; the 5th dentist exploded.

Colgate-Palmolive are recalling their motion electric toothbrush after reports that the devices have “exploded” while being used.

Health Canada says they have heard of 9 reports across the country of this happening, although there have been no long-term injuries.

If you happen to own this potentially volatile product you are asked to contact Colgate-Palmolive directly at 1-800-268-6757 or motion@colpal.com for more information.

Beyond brushing your teeth with an exploding toothbrush, here are some other hygiene practices that may be considered dangerous:

* replacing your loofah sponge with a rabid squirrel

* applying your lipstick while using the side mirror of a moving 18-wheeler.

* two words: monkey bath
